Apple Sold More iPhones In This Country

CEO Tim Cook made a press conference today in China and spoke to Chinese press about the launch of iPhone. Cook revealed that Apple sold almost 10 million iPhones in China and the result is satisfying.


Apple started to sell iPhone with the partnership of China Mobile, and Tim Cook was in Beijing today to make a press conference about the launch of this partnership. Tim Cook explained the company’s view of the Chinese smartphone market, and about the partnership.


Apple sold more iPhones in the last quarter of 2013 in Chinese market. So company sold 10.3 million iPhones in China alone, and this was the record for that region. That’s why the company selected China as a launc market for its new iPhone models.


There was grey market problem in China, and Apple wasn’t happy with this model. So, Apple decided to open an Apple Store in China and tried to sell iPhones directly to consumers. We can say that was the good strategy looking for the sales results.


As a result, Apple’s decision seems to be successful if we look at just sales, and both companies benefit from this partnership.  Apple also has a new market for its flagship smartphones iPhone 5S and 5C, because sales are dropping in West markets.
